Terms of Service

Welcome to Storyboard.team. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Storyboard.team platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Storyboard.team is a cloud-based, AI-powered storyboard collaboration platform designed for film and advertising professionals. The Service enables users to:

• Create and manage storyboard projects
• Upload, edit, and organize storyboard frames
• Collaborate with team members and external clients
• Share storyboards with reviewers via secure links
• Receive feedback through comments and annotations
• Export storyboards in various formats
• Generate images using AI in multiple artistic styles
• Generate videos using AI (720p / 1080p resolution)
• Parse scripts and automatically generate storyboards using AI
• Track and manage AI credit usage for metering AI features

2. Account Registration

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use our Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2.2 Account Information

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

2.3 One Account Per Person

Each individual may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in termination of all accounts.

3. Subscription Plans and Payment

3.1 Plans

We offer the following subscription plans:

3.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• All fees are non-refundable except as stated in our Refund Policy
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
• AI credit consumption is metered separately; see Section 3A for details

3.3 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date.

3A. AI Credits and Top-up Packages

3A.1 AI Credit System

All AI features (image generation, video generation, script parsing, storyboard generation) consume credits from a shared credit pool associated with your workspace. Different AI operations consume different amounts of credits based on complexity and resource usage.

3A.2 Monthly Credit Allowance

Each subscription plan includes a monthly AI credit allowance:

Monthly credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle. Unused monthly credits do not roll over to the next cycle.

For Team and Enterprise plans, monthly credits are allocated individually to each member. Each member receives their own credit quota that cannot be transferred between members. Unused individual monthly credits do not roll over to the next cycle.

3A.3 Top-up Packages

• Top-up credit packages are available for purchase by Pro, Team, and Enterprise plan subscribers
• Top-up credits never expire and remain available until consumed
• When AI credits are consumed, monthly credits are used first; top-up credits are only consumed after the monthly allowance is exhausted
• Top-up credits are non-transferable and bound to the workspace in which they were purchased
• For Team and Enterprise plans, top-up credits are added to a shared team pool. All workspace members may use shared top-up credits after exhausting their individual monthly allocation

3A.4 Feature Gating

Certain AI features (such as advanced artistic styles, video generation, higher resolutions, and batch generation) require a Pro, Team, or Enterprise subscription. See the plan comparison on our website for current feature availability by plan.

3A.5 Non-Transferability

AI credits (both monthly and top-up) are bound to a specific workspace and cannot be transferred between workspaces.

4. User Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to the content you upload to the Service ("User Content"). Storyboard.team does not claim ownership of your storyboards, images, or other creative works.

4.2 License Grant

By uploading content, you grant Storyboard.team a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Store, process, and display your content to provide the Service
• Create backups for data protection purposes
• Generate thumbnails and previews
• Send your content to third-party AI service providers to process AI features you request (such as image generation, video generation, and script parsing)

This license terminates when you delete your content or close your account.

4.3 Content Restrictions

You agree not to upload or share content that:

• Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Contains illegal, harmful, or offensive material
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations
• Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Violates the privacy rights of others

4.4 AI-Generated Content

• AI-generated images and videos are created based on the inputs and descriptions you provide
• Your right to use AI-generated content is subject to the terms of the third-party AI service providers that power these features
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, quality, originality, or fitness for any particular purpose of AI-generated content
• AI-generated content may be similar or identical to outputs generated for other users from similar inputs
• You are responsible for ensuring that your use of AI-generated content complies with all applicable laws and regulations

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Circumvent any usage limits or access restrictions
• Abuse AI credits or attempt to circumvent AI credit limits through any means
• Use AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or infringes on the rights of others
• Attempt to extract, reverse engineer, or derive the underlying AI models or algorithms
• Falsely represent AI-generated content as human-created where applicable laws require disclosure of AI involvement

6. Sharing and Collaboration

6.1 Share Links

• You are responsible for content shared via share links you create
• Share links may be password-protected and set to expire
• You should only share links with intended recipients

6.2 Guest Access

• Guests accessing shared content may leave comments and annotations
• You are responsible for managing guest feedback on your content

6.3 Team Workspaces

• Workspace owners are responsible for managing team members
• Content within a workspace may be accessible to all workspace members

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and technology, is owned by Storyboard.team and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works based on our Service.

7.2 Trademarks

"Storyboard.team" and associated logos are trademarks. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission.

7.3 Third-Party AI Services

• AI features are powered by third-party AI service providers (currently including but not limited to Google LLC). We may add or change AI service providers at any time.
• Your use of AI features is also subject to the applicable terms of service of the respective third-party AI service providers.
• The availability, performance, and capabilities of third-party AI services are outside of our control. We are not responsible for any changes, interruptions, or discontinuation of third-party AI services.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Data Security

9.1 Our Commitment

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
• Secure cloud infrastructure
• Regular security audits
• Access controls and authentication

9.2 Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Using strong, unique passwords
• Protecting your account credentials
• Reporting security vulnerabilities

10. Service Availability

10.1 Uptime

We strive to maintain high service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice when possible.

10.2 Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time.

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings.

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Fail to pay subscription fees
• Abuse the Service or other users

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service ends immediately
• We may delete your data after a grace period (typically 30 days)
• Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

AI-GENERATED CONTENT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES. WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT. AI FEATURES MAY BE MODIFIED, SUSPENDED, OR DISCONTINUED AT ANY TIME DUE TO CHANGES IN THIRD-PARTY AI SERVICES.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORYBOARD.TEAM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storyboard.team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
